Shabbat Chai
We are looking forward to a year of exciting educational experiences for the entire family as our religious education and Torah learning moves to Shabbat. We are calling this program Shabbat Chai which means "Living Shabbat." Our goal is simple: learn through authentic experience. We will learn about Shabbat and holidays by celebrating them together. We will learn about Jewish values by going out in the community and living them.
Your children will continue to receive the great Jewish education you have come to count on. Our new comprehensive and holistic structure will better meet the needs for Jewish identity formation for the new generation. Not only will it be great fun and enhance our sense of community, the new Shabbat Chai program will be both informative and transformative.
In additon to programming for your children, parallel adult education will be offered whenever your children are learning. We, as parents, are the best teachers for our children. We model for them what it means to take our Judaism seriously. And we too continue to grow as we learn. Hence, Shabbat Chai includes meaningful adult learning.
